Online Certificate Programmes Intermediate Level - Starts 16th-22nd July, 2023

The Institute’s vision is to train Christian workers and leaders (and potential leaders) for effective mission in our Ghanaian and African context. It seeks to do this through its accredited (or degree) programmes as well as its research projects and continuing education programmes. In addition to its degree programmes, ACI now offers certificate programmes for those involved in grassroots ministry of the Church in Africa and beyond. From the Basic through the Intermediate to the Advanced levels, ACI Certificate Programmes are meant to invite ordinary Christians to become equipped to effectively live out their faith in practical steps and actions.

The following programmes are currently being rolled out:

1. The Certificate in Christian Mission and Evangelism: Progressively equips students with the necessary tools, skills, and ideas for Christian mission particularly in the areas of evangelism towards conversion, discipling of new believers, and developing a community of believers. The programme will engage biblical tools, theological and practical issues related to historical and contemporary forms of missions and evangelism, discipleship, Church planting and Church growth, among others.

2. The Certificate in Christian-Muslim Relations: Provides the opportunity for lay and ordained Christians to gain understanding of the basic foundational and contemporary principles of Christian-Muslim relations. This will enable participants to (1) work for peace in the wider society and peaceful co-existence between Christians and their Muslim neighbours as they seek to emulate Jesus Christ who is Himself the ‘Prince of Peace’ (Isaiah 9:6) and (2) embark on faithful Christian witness in an interfaith environment of Christians and Muslims that respects (not violates) the spirit of good neighbourliness.

3. The Certificate in African Christian Creation Care Studies: Focuses on the Church’s witness as part of God’s mission in and to the environment. It also provides training to equip Christian workers in both church and parachurch organisations that are concerned about the integrity and sustainability of the Earth as a faithful duty for our home in which we live and do mission. There is a growing realization that religion, spirituality, ethics, and values can make important contributions, in collaboration with science and policy, to address complex ecological issues. This certificate course in African Christian Creation Care Studies proposes to examine those contributions, particularly from African perspectives, acknowledging both the problems and promises of religions, and specifically through the Bible, in creation care.

4. The Certificate in Leadership and Witness in the Public Sphere : This Certificate programme is designed to enhance daily practice of Christian life and witness in the public sphere in the African context. It thus equips students with the necessary tools,
skills, and ideas for responsible leadership and service in various spheres of influence and for effective witness in the public sphere. It examines the biblical and theological foundations for Christian leadership and witness for the common good.
