All library users are expected to conform to certain standards of conduct in the use of JZL
The following rules shall be observed by all users of the Library:
- Food, drinks, water, and sweets are not allowed in any section (i.e. Periodical room, 24/7 study room) of the library.
- Inflammable sources of light (e.g., Matches, Candle and Non-Solar Lantern) should not be brought into the library
- Needles, toothpicks, and other sharp objects are forbidden within the library and its premises.
- Bags, files, and other carriers must be deposited at the designated place. Users will be given tags for bags deposited, for security purposes. The library staff reserve the right to inspect bags/files after a visit
- Silence should be maintained in the library. Phone(s) should be put on silent mode, to avoid any to inconvenience other library users.
- Books/publications should not be marked, dog eared, or defaced under any circumstance. The cost of cleaning or repairing a book(s) will be charged to the user. All books will be checked before and after borrowing.
- Books should not be shelved after use. Books used should be left on the reading tables
- Scanners and Cameras cannot be used within the library premises without the permission of the Librarian.
- Users may not download or install software on any ACI computer. Downloads will be deleted without recourse to the user (s).
- Users should not tamper with any computer setting. If you have problems with the computer facilities, please inform the library staff
- Students are reminded that access to the 24/7 study room is for their exclusive use. Students may not under any circumstance allow their visitors to these rooms nor allow them to use facilities and equipment.
- Every class has a key – do not transfer to an external user or a student who does not belong to your class
- Doors & windows must be locked, and computers and apps, lights, air-conditioners, etc. must be turned off.
OFFENCES AND SANCTIONS
The following shall constitute library offenses:
- Failure to return borrowed materials on the due date.
Sanction:
General Collection: Offender shall be liable to the payment of a fine of GHS 2.00 per day per book up to 7 days; thereafter GHS 5.00 a day per book plus loss of borrowing rights
till books are returned.
- Loss or misplacement of books and related materials.
Sanction: The offender will pay twice the current price of the book including shipping and handling charges, plus a processing charge of GH¢100.00
