Apostle Professor Kwadwo Nimfour Opoku Onyinah (RTD) — an immediate part chairman of the Church of Pentecost, a distinguished theologian, scholar, spiritual father, and one of the most influential leaders in the history of The Church of Pentecost.
Born in Aduman in the Ashanti Region, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah’s journey from a young technical student to a global Pentecostal icon remains a powerful testimony of God’s grace, calling, and purpose. After giving his life to Christ in 1972, he devoted himself fully to ministry and entered full-time service in 1976 at the age of 22.
For 42 remarkable years, he served faithfully and sacrificially in various capacities, eventually becoming the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost from 2008 to 2018. Under his leadership, the church experienced tremendous spiritual growth, global expansion, and strategic transformation.
He pioneered the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), creating a ministry platform that reached professionals, youth, and multicultural communities across the world. His deep theological insight, humility, and passion for missions have impacted generations within and beyond Ghana.
As a respected academic, Apostle Prof. Onyinah holds a PhD in Theological Studies from the University of Birmingham and has contributed immensely to Pentecostal scholarship through books, teachings, and research. He also served as the founding Rector and Chancellor of Pentecost University.
Beyond ministry, he is a devoted husband to Mrs. Grace Adwapa Onyinah, with whom he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage — a beautiful example of faith, love, and commitment.
Though retired from active ministry in 2018 at the age of 64, his influence continues to shape the global body of Christ through mentorship, leadership, writing, and kingdom service.
